We run full flatbeds — 22 supersacks, 44,000 lbs — because a full truck is the cheapest way to move rubber across Kansas. At a full load it's $425 a sack delivered, and on smaller orders every sack you add pulls your per-sack price down. No showroom, no sales crew, no installer markup — you unload it yourself and keep the difference.

And here's the number to anchor on: what wood mulch costs you every single year. Wood looks cheap the season you buy it — then it fades by August, floats off in the first gully-washer, and has to be re-bought and re-spread next spring. This is the part that keeps the price down — and it's easier than it sounds. Kansas crews do it the same way every time:

Step 1 Meet the truck Pallets come off the flatbed with tractor forks, a skid steer, or a forklift. Somebody in town has one — they always do.

KDHE Waste Tire Product Grants

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) awards annual Waste Tire Product Grants funded by the state's tire excise tax. These grants are awarded to local units of government and K-12 public and private schools for projects that use recycled tire products like playground surfacing.

What to know

Kansas local units of government and K-12 public and private schools may apply. Eligible projects must be no less than 50% waste tire material by weight, unless composed of other recycled material. The program provides up to 50% matching funds to awarded applicants. Grants are funded by the tire excise tax; a recent cycle awarded roughly $494,000 across 30 recipients statewide, with single awards up to $40,000. Recent application windows have opened in mid-November and closed mid-January.
